Sharon Roush Named CEO of South Bay Hospital

Sharon RoushSUN CITY CENTER, FL (February 4, 2009) - South Bay Hospital is pleased to announce that Sharon Roush has been named the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for South Bay Hospital. Roush comes to the South Bay team from Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, where she served as CEO for the past nine years.

While at Capital Regional Medical Center, Roush led the development and construction of a 200 bed replacement facility for the former Tallahassee Community Hospital. She also implemented a Service Excellence program resulting in increased patient satisfaction, decreased patient wait times in the Emergency Department, and achieved Chest Pain Center accreditation and Primary Stroke Center certification.

“I am excited to be a part of the South Bay Hospital team and look forward to being an active member of the community,” says Roush. “Together, we will continue South Bay’s tradition of commitment to the patient and constant quality improvement.”

Prior to this, Roush was the CEO of Columbia Hospital in West Palm Beach. She has also served in a leadership capacity on a number of healthcare related boards and has been honored for her numerous community endeavors.

Roush has a Master of Science in Health Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Maryville College in Tennessee. She will be relocating to the area with her husband, Darryl.

South Bay Hospital is a 112 bed, acute care hospital serving Sun City Center, Ruskin, Wimauma, Riverview, Apollo Beach, Gibsonton and the surrounding areas. South Bay offers a wide range of services including general and vascular surgery, urology, cardiology and colorectal surgery.
